Regular Season Round 28: Bilbao - Valencia 84-78

The most important game in the last round took place in Bilbao between third ranked Valencia (17-9) and twelfth ranked Bilbao (11-15) on Saturday night. Valencia was defeated by Bilbao in a tough game on the road 78-84. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Valencia. Bilbao dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia's 26. Worth to mention a great performance of French power forward Damien Inglis (204-1995) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds. Dominican forward Angel Delgado (208-1994, college: Seton Hall) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Montenegrin center Bojan Dubljevic (205-1991, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 16 points and the former international Josep Puerto (199-1999) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Valencia. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bilbao maintains twelfth position with 11-15 record. Valencia at the other side dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. Bilbao are looking forward to face higher ranked Real Madrid (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Valencia will play against Real Betis in Sevilla and is hoping to win this game.
