Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Tenerife Naut. (17-11) edged on the road 6th ranked Alcala (15-13) 82-79 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican Eddy Polanco (190-1994, college: SE Louisiana) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Alberto Hernandez (183-1999) who added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) during the contest. At the losing side guard Oscar Mendez (182-2000) responded with 21 points and forward Carlos Unanue (193-2000) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Alcala's coach Angel Diaz tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tenerife Naut. have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group B. Loser Alcala dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost.
