Regular Season Round 28: Bensheim - Langen 77-73

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Bensheim (9-16) won against at home 11th ranked TV Langen (9-14) 77-73 on Saturday. Strangely TV Langen outrebounded Bensheim 51-34 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Philip Jenkins (188-1990, college: Life) who scored that evening 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Eric Curth (193-1992) supported him with 13 points. Bensheim's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds by center Devon Jacob (200-1999) did not help to save the game for TV Langen. Forward Bastian Winterhalter (198-1990) added 14 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bensheim moved-up to twelfth place in South West. Loser TV Langen keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Bensheim will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. TV Langen will play against Limburg (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
