Everything went according to plan when twelfth ranked Unicaja (11-14) defeated 17th ranked Andorra (8-19) in Malaga 78-74 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Unicaja made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by international guard Dario Brizuela (188-1994) who scored that evening 20 points and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-1989, college: Notre Dame) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even 16 points by the former international guard Oriol Pauli (201-1994) did not help to save the game for Andorra. American Drew Crawford (196-1990, college: Northwestern, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Unicaja moved-up to eleventh place. Andorra lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 19 games lost. Unicaja will meet league's leader Barca in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Andorra will play against Gran Canaria (#10) in Las Palmas and hope to secure a win.
