Regular Season Round 29: Koroivos - Psychiko 73-75

The most exciting game of round 29 in the A2 took place in Koroivos. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed Koroivos (16-9) to fifth ranked Psychiko (16-6) 75-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Koroivos. The best player for the winners was forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-1985) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Giannis Athanasoulas (202-1987) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Psychiko players scored in double figures. Psychiko's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Nikos Paparegkas (200-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian guard Stefan Mitrovic (195-1996) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Psychiko moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Koroivos dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Psychiko are looking forward to face Agriniou (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koroivos will play against Amyntas D. (#8) in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
