Regular Season Round 21: Titebi - Batumi 97-82

There was a small surprise in Tbilisi where sixth ranked Titebi (9-9) beat 4th placed Batumi (11-8) 97-82 on Saturday. The game without a history. Titebi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Batumi's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Javion Ogunyemi (207-1995, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). His fellow American import guard Isaac Asrat (188-1997, college: LCU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 assists. Titebi's coach Besik Lezhava used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Stewart Deangelo (196-1995, college: PFW) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and Levan Eliadze (198-1992) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Titebi maintains sixth place with 9-9 record. Loser Batumi dropped to the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Olimpi. Titebi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena TSU.
