Regular Season Round 28: Levski - Spartak Pleven 108-114

The most important game in the last round took place in Sofia between third ranked Levski (17-8) and fifth ranked Spartak Pleven (14-11) on Saturday night. Levski was defeated by Spartak Pleven in a tough game at home 108-114. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Levski. Spartak Pleven dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Levski's 46 and made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Spartak Pleven looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Levski helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Bozhidar Avramov (196-1990) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Serbian guard Koca Jovovic (187-1993) contributed with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Spartak Pleven's coach Todor Todorov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Adonte Parker (186-1989, college: Dayton) replied with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and international guard Ventsislav Petkov (188-1991, agency: BIG) added 27 points in the effort for Levski. Five Spartak Pleven and four Levski players scored in double figures. Spartak Pleven maintains fifth position with 14-11 record. Defending champion Levski keeps the third place with eight games lost. Spartak Pleven are looking forward to face Yambol (#8) at home in the next round. Levski will play against Beroe (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
