Regular Season Round 41: Den Bosch - Leuven 76-74

The most exciting game of round 41 in the BNXT League took place in Den Bosch. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Belgian Leuven Bears (5-2) to third ranked Dutch Den Bosch (3-4) 76-74 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Leuven Bears. Center Thomas van der Mars (208-1990, college: Portland, agency: Duran International) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and guard Shane Hammink (201-1994, college: Valpo) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Solomon Young (203-1998, college: Iowa St.) responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Joshua Heath (186-1994, college: Georgia Tech) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Den Bosch maintains third place with 3-4 record having just three points less than leader Leiden, which they share with Antwerp. Leuven Bears at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Oostende and Limburg. Den Bosch is looking forward to face league's leader Kangoeroes in Mechelen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Leuven Bears will play on the road against Feyenoord in Rotterdam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
