The most exciting game of round 23 in the A1 took place in Thessaloniki. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked PAOK (8-12) to seventh ranked Aris (10-12) 77-76 on Wednesday evening. PAOK was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 22-12 charge of Aris, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by PAOK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 assists. Forward James Kelly (202-1993, college: Marshall) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Aris players scored in double figures. Guard Demetre Rivers (203-1995, college: Mercer) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and forward David DiLeo (202-1997, college: CMU) scored 15 points. PAOK's coach Aris Likogiannis tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aris moved-up to sixth place. PAOK at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost.
