Rather predictable result in Sofia where third ranked Levski (18-8) defeated 6th ranked Beroe (13-13) 86-68. Levski dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Beroe's 36. They outrebounded Beroe 51-34 including a 39-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Levski players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Beroe's players. The former international power forward Tsvetomir Chernokojev (205-2000, agency: BIG) nailed 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Bahamas center Zane Knowles (208-1992, college: TAMUCC, agency: BIG) accounted for 21 points and 12 rebounds. Four Levski players scored in double figures. Levski's coach Konstantin Papazov allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Damyan Minkov (197-2002) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Martin Sotirov (201-1999, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Beroe in the defeat. Defending champion maintains third place with 18-8 record having six points less than leader Rilski. Beroe at the other side keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Levski will play against league's second-placed Balkan in Botevgrad in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beroe will play at home against Yambol (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
