There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Bilbao (13-16) edged at home 9th ranked Murcia (14-15) 78-77 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bilbao made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Dominican forward Angel Delgado (208-1994, college: Seton Hall) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. American center Jeff Withey (213-1990, college: Kansas) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winning side. American James Webb III (203-1993, college: Boise St.) came up with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Azerbaijani-American guard Jordan Davis (188-1997, college: N.Colorado) added 16 points respectively for Murcia in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Bilbao moved-up to eleventh place. Murcia lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Bilbao will meet Zaragoza (#13) on the road in the next round. Murcia will play against Obradoiro (#14) and hope to secure a win.
