There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Zaragoza (11-18) edged 10th ranked Breogan (13-14) in Lugo 85-82 on Saturday. Strangely Breogan outrebounded Zaragoza 33-21. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Sean Kilpatrick (193-1990, college: Cincinnati) who led the winners and scored 23 points. Polish Adam Waczynski (199-1989) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Zaragoza's coach Dragan Sakota used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Serbian Marko Lukovic (206-1992, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (210-1990, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Breogan in the defeat. Four Breogan players scored in double figures. Zaragoza have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain thirteenth place with 11-18 record. Breogan lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Zaragoza will meet at home higher ranked Bilbao (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Breogan will play against Gran Canaria in Las Palmas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
