The game between second ranked Manresa (19-9) and seventh ranked Baskonia (17-13) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Manresa was crushed by Baskonia in Vitoria 85-107. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Manresa. Baskonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Wade Baldwin IV (193-1996, college: Vanderbilt) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Alec Peters (206-1995, college: Valpo) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Joe Thomasson (193-1993, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 24 points and 8 assists and Nigerian forward Chima Moneke (198-1995, college: UC Davis) added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Manresa. Five Baskonia and four Manresa players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Baskonia maintains seventh place with 17-13 record. Manresa at the other side dropped to the third position with nine games lost. Baskonia are looking forward to face Unicaja (#12) in Malaga in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Manresa will play on the road against Tenerife (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
