Regular Season Round 30: Nantes - ASA 82-71

We should mention about the upset which took place in Nantes, where higher ranked ASA (13-17) lost to sixteenth ranked Nantes (12-18) in a road game 71-82. Nantes players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for Senegalese guard Lamine Sambe (188-1989) who led his team to a victory with 26 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Jerome Sanchez (197-1990) contributed with 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Power forward Jerome Cazenobe (204-1989) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and Serbian power forward Strahinja Gavrilovic (206-1993, college: USC) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for ASA. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nantes maintains sixteenth position with 12-18 record. Newly promoted ASA dropped to the tenth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Nantes will play against higher ranked Tours (#15) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ASA will play against JA Vichy (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
