The game between closely ranked teams ended with 16th ranked Nantes' (12-19) road loss to fifteenth ranked Tours (13-17) 86-87 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for forward Dylan Affo Mama (196-1999) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Dominican-American guard Marques Townes (193-1995, college: Loyola, IL) accounted for 25 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winning side. Jerome Sanchez (197-1990) came up with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-1986, college: Mercyhurst) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Nantes in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nantes' coach Jean-Marc Dupraz tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tours moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Quimper. Loser Nantes dropped to the seventeenth position with 19 games lost. Tours will meet at home Boulazac Basket (#16) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nantes will play against Aix-Maurienne and hope to secure a win.
