Regular Season Round 29: Tortona - Trieste 80-74

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Trieste (13-16) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Tortona (16-13) 80-74 on Sunday. Tortona looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American Mike Daum (206-1995, college: S.Dakota St.) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Tyler Cain (204-1988, college: S.Dakota) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Tortona players scored in double figures. American-Israeli Adrian Banks (191-1986, college: Arkansas St.) produced 22 points and American point guard Corey Davis (185-1997, college: Houston) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Tortona maintains fifth place with 16-13 record. Loser Trieste keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Pesaro. Tortona are looking forward to face Brindisi (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Trieste will play against Treviso and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
