The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tallinna Kalev won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TalTech made 33-of-37 free shots (89.2 percent) during the game, while Tallinna Kalev only scored twelve points from the stripe. TalTech forced 19 Tallinna Kalev turnovers. Strangely Tallinna Kalev outrebounded TalTech 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Tallinna Kalev helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Brandon Childress (183-1997, college: Wake Forest) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 assists (made all of his eighteen free throws !!!). Oliver Metsalu (196-1993) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American center Michael Buchanan (212-1994, college: USC Upstate) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward RJ McGhee (198-1991, college: Okla City) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Tallinna Kalev. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
