There was an upset when higher ranked Chalon/Saor (18-14) was defeated at home by tenth ranked ASA (15-17) 92-88 on Tuesday. ASA made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game, while Chalon/Saor only scored ten points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American point guard Marquis Wright (185-1995, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. Serbian power forward Strahinja Gavrilovic (206-1993, college: USC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Mickael Gelabale (204-1983) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-1993, college: Murray St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Five Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. ASA moved-up to ninth place. Loser Chalon/Saor keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Antibes. ASA will meet Saint Vallier (#11) on the road in the next round. Chalon/Saor will play against Nantes (#17) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Betclic ELITE ProA just one year after relegation.
