Regular Season Round 32: Marousi - Tritonas S. 67-72

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Tritonas S. (#4) and Marousi (#10). Despite it looked like an easy game for Tritonas S., those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Host Marousi challenged much higher ranked Tritonas S. giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by five points 72-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Marousi. Worth to mention a great performance of center Petros Melissaratos (205-1993, agency: Network Sports International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Giannis Dimakos (192-1994) who added 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Tritonas S. players scored in double figures. Point guard Pavlos Xydas (185-1993) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and center Marios Doxas (207-1996) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tritonas S. (19-8) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position. Loser Marousi dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Enosi Kavalas. Tritonas S. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Marousi will play against Napfliou (#15) and hope to secure a win.
