Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Quimper UJAP and 15th ranked Tours had identical 13-18 record. This time Quimper UJAP used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Tours 81-76 on Saturday night. Quimper UJAP made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. Swingman Elhadji-Digue Diawara (206-1998) stepped up and scored 13 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (195-1984, college: CSUN) chipped in 16 points. The best for the losing side was American guard James Batemon (185-1997, college: LMU) with 25 points and 7 rebounds and Jamaican Tyran De Lattibeaudiere (201-1991, college: Lamar) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Quimper UJAP (14-18) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Boulazac. Newly promoted Tours dropped to the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. Quimper UJAP will meet higher ranked JA Vichy (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tours will play against ADA Blois (#5) and hope to secure a win.
