There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Tenerife (20-13) lost at home to seventh ranked Baskonia (20-13) 91-78 on Wednesday. Baskonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Lithuanian swingman Rokas Giedraitis (200-1992) notched 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and American point guard Wade Baldwin IV (193-1996, college: Vanderbilt) supported him with 17 points and 6 assists. Even 22 points by Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (206-1992, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for Tenerife. Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-1983) added 14 points and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tenerife's coach Jesus Vidorreta rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Baskonia have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Tenerife. Baskonia will meet at home Joventut (#7) in the next round. Tenerife will play against Andorra and hope to secure a win.
