Regular Season Round 33: Coruna - Castello 78-74

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Castello (16-16) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Coruna (20-14) 78-74 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Coruna looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Ward (203-1997, college: Michigan St.) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Swedish Johan Lofberg (199-1995) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Eric Stutz (205-1992, college: EKU) who recorded 18 points and the other American import forward Calvin Hermanson (200-1994, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Helping Ballers) added 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Coruna maintains fifth place with 20-14 record. Castello lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 16 games lost. Coruna will meet Almansa (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Castello will play against Acunsa GBC (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
