Panathinaikos dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Aris' 34. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Ioannis Papapetrou (203-1994, college: Texas) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Okaro White (206-1992, college: FSU) contributed with 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. American forward James Kelly (202-1993, college: Marshall) answered with 19 points and the other American import point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) added 10 points and 9 assists in the effort for Aris. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
