Sampaio captured LBF title. They overcame Vera Cruz in the third game of the championship series to complete the sweep. Sampaio posted a 36-31 halftime lead. But Vera Cruz responded with a 21-7 rally in the third quarter to surge ahead. Sampaio however went on a 20-11 run in the fourth stanza to force overtime. Sampaio poured in 11 points in the extra period to snatch the victory and celebrate the title. Taina Paixao notched 20 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals for the champions. Erika De Souza provided 16 points and 13 rebounds for Sampaio. Emanuely De Oliveira and Izabella Sangalli answered with 16 points each for Vera Cruz. They also combined for 23 rebounds in the loss.
