A very close game took place in Bamberg between Hakro Merlins and Brose Bamberg. Hakro Merlins got a very close victory on the road over Brose Bamberg. Hakro Merlins managed to escape with a 2-point win 84-82 on Tuesday evening. American point guard Otis Livingston II (180-1996, college: GMU) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Jaren Lewis (201-1996, college: ACU) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. International Christian Sengfelder (203-1995, college: Boise St.) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Vaidas Kariniauskas (199-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 assists. Five Brose Bamberg players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hakro Merlins will meet at home BG Goettingen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brose Bamberg will play against Telekom Baskets in Bonn and hope to win that game.
