Regular Season Round 4: Svendborg - Naestved 85-97

BasketLigaen top team - Naestved (4-0) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat seventh ranked Svendborg (1-2) 97-85. Naestved shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 51.5 percentage. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by guard Mike McGuirl (189-1998, college: Kansas St.) who scored that evening 40 points (!!!) and guard Ian DuBose (193-1999, college: Wake Forest) supported him with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Naestved's coach Andy Hipsher used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 37 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds by guard Devin Whitfield (196, college: LMU) did not help to save the game for Svendborg. Guard Tyrell Kirk (195, college: UNCP) added 12 points and 6 assists for lost side. Naestved have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Svendborg at the other side keeps the seventh place with two games lost. They share the position with BAC. Naestved will meet at home Randers (#4) in the next round. Svendborg will play against Vaerlose and hope to win that game.
