Regular Season Round 3: Sindri - Thor AK 98-50

Very expected game when Thor AK (0-3) was smashed on the road by Sindri (3-0) 98-50 on Friday. The game without a history. Sindri led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Thor AK's 20. Sindri forced 21 Thor AK turnovers and outrebounded them 59-27 including a 42-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Thor AK's players. It was an exceptional evening for Spanish forward Guillermo Sanchez (200-1991) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Danish guard Oscar Teglgaard (187-1998) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Sindri players scored in double figures. American guard Tarojae Brake (191-1997, college: St.Peter's) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Hlynur Einarsson (194-1997) added 16 points respectively for Thor AK in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sindri will meet Hamar (#5) on the road in the next round. Thor AK will play against Skallagrimur (#6) in Borganes and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
