Regular Season Round 4: Lich Basketball - Limburg 93-60

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Limburg (0-4) was smashed on the road by ninth ranked Licher Basket (2-2) 93-60 on Saturday. Licher Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Limburg's 22. They outrebounded Limburg 47-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. Licher Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Limburg's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Licher Basket made 7 blocks. The winners were led by power forward Yannik Ribbecke (197-1997) who scored that evening 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Felix-Frederik Schweizer supported him with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Licher Basket players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. Even 24 points and 8 rebounds by guard Jari Beckmann (191-1997) did not help to save the game for Limburg. Austrian-Croatian point guard Matej Kljaic (189-1993) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Licher Basket moved-up to seventh place in South-West, which they share with Soeflingen and Bensheim. Loser Limburg still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Kronberg and Giessen Ak.. Licher Basket will meet Soeflingen (#8) in the next round. Limburg will play against Kronberg (#13) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
