Regular Season Round 4: Stuttgart MVT - Soeflingen 85-70

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Stuttgart and 5th ranked Soeflingen had identical 2-1 record. This time Stuttgart used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Ulm 85-70 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in South-West. Stuttgart forced 23 Soeflingen turnovers. Strangely Soeflingen outrebounded Stuttgart 49-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by Greek guard Vassilis Lampropoulos (196-1990) who scored that evening 23 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Fekremariam Abraha (186-1999) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Stuttgart players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 22 points and 24 rebounds by center Marko Markovic did not help to save the game for Soeflingen. Laurin Ertekin added 14 points for lost side. Soeflingen's coach rotated eleven players saving starting five for next games. Stuttgart (3-1) moved-up to second place in South-West, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Soeflingen dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Lich Basketball and Bensheim. Stuttgart will meet Mannheim (#4) on the road in the next round. Soeflingen will play against Licher Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
