Regular Season Round 2: Groningen - Leeuwarden 70-76

Everything went according to plan when Leeuwarden defeated on the road Groningen 76-70 on Saturday. Canadian guard Keevan Veinot (193, college: Dalhousie) notched 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and guard Tim Hoeve (196-1998) supported him with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Leeuwarden players scored in double figures. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by Latvian power forward Artjoms Butjankovs (204-1991) did not help to save the game for Groningen. American point guard Charles Callison (185-1995, college: WSU, agency: Slash Sports) added 17 points for the hosts. Leeuwarden will meet Den Bosch on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Groningen will play against Zwolle and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
