Tesvikiye used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Selcuk 101-71 on Saturday night. Tesvikiye dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Selcuklu's 38. Tesvikiye forced 21 Selcuklu turnovers and outrebounded them 58-26 including a 32-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Selcuklu's players. Orkun Cavusoglu (-2004) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and Goktug Turhan (-2005) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Five Tesvikiye players scored in double figures. At the losing side Hasan Uzun (189-2003) responded with 32 points and Mehmet Turkmen (-2005) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tesvikiye will meet Turk Telekom in the next round. Selcuklu will play against Bursaspor and hope to win that game.
