Very significant was E.Ashkelon's 88-83 road victory against M.Raanana. E.Ashkelon players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. M.Raanana was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Thomas Gipson (202-1993, college: Kansas St.) notched 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized Polish guard Gal Gilinski (195-1995, agency: Avi Zilberman) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four E.Ashkelon players scored in double figures. E.Ashkelon's coach Avi Sukar allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 21 points and 18 rebounds by naturalized American Willy Workman (198-1990, college: Amherst) did not help to save the game for M.Raanana. American swingman Jason Siggers (194-1985, college: Albany, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 31 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. E.Ashkelon will play against M.Haifa at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. M.Raanana will play against E.Netanya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
