Regular Season Round 6: Challans - Berck 86-73

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Berck (1-5) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Vendee Challans (4-2) 86-73 on Friday. Lithuanian forward Gilvydas Biruta (206-1991, college: URI) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Bahamas forward Radshad Davis (195-1996, college: FIU) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Vendee Challans' coach Sebastien Lambert let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Kai Mitchell (201-1997, college: SHSU) with 19 points and Cameroonian forward Arthur Ekani (199-1988) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Vendee Challans have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Vitre and Loon-Plage. Newly promoted Berck keeps the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Tours and Pole France. Vendee Challans will meet CFBB (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Berck will play against Lourdes-Tarbes and hope to win that game.
