Regular Season Round 4: Getafe - Alcala 74-81

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Getafe (1-1) lost to tenth ranked Alcala (1-1) in Madrid 74-81 on Saturday. Alcala made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Alcala outrebounded Getafe 40-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by forward Carlos Unanue (193-2000) who scored that evening 31 points and power forward Alvaro Biersack (198-1995) supported him with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Even 19 points and 4 assists by Argentinian swingman Joaquin Sanchez (188-1998) did not help to save the game for Getafe. Point guard Pablo Perez (182-1997) added 11 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Four Getafe players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alcala left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Group B-A, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Getafe. Alcala will meet at home league's second-placed Real Madrid 2 in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Getafe will play against the league's leader Majadahonda and hope to win that game.
