Regular Season Round 4: Manisa - Fenerbahce 58-93

Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Fenerbahce (4-0) outplayed on the road 11th ranked Manisa (1-3) 93-58 on Saturday. Fenerbahce dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Manisa's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by international forward Metecan Birsen (208-1995) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Nigerian center Tonye Jekiri (212-1994, college: Miami, FL) supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even a double-double of 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-1991, college: Siena) did not help to save the game for Manisa. Gani Gulaslan (202-1994) added 14 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Bursaspor. Newly promoted Manisa dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Fenerbahce will meet at home Pinar Karsiyaka (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Manisa will play against Gaziantep and hope to win that game.
