Regular Season Round 4: Galatasaray - Besiktas 67-74

Besiktas' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Galatasaray (1-3) on the road game in Istanbul 74-67 on Saturday. Besiktas outrebounded Galatasaray 44-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Lithuanian forward Gediminas Orelik (199-1990) who scored that evening 15 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and American center David McCormack (208-1999, college: Kansas) supported him with 8 points and 16 rebounds. Even 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Canadian-Jamaican guard Dylan Ennis (188-1991, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Galatasaray. The former international Sadik Kabaca (208-2000) added 11 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Galatasaray's coach Andreas Pistiolis tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Besiktas left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Galatasaray. Besiktas will meet higher ranked Tofas (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Galatasaray's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Dacka.
