Regular Season Round 4: Torrent - Jovens 79-50

Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Jovens (0-4) was outscored on the road by third ranked Torrent (3-1) 79-50 on Saturday. Torrent dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Jovens' 26. They outrebounded Jovens 47-34 including 37 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by forward Andres Diaz (205-1996) who scored that evening 11 points and 8 rebounds and forward David Calero (193-1999) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by forward Juan Robles (194-1996) did not help to save the game for Jovens. Jorge Jodar (-1993) added 8 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Torrent have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group E-A with 3-1 record behind leader Lliria, which they share with Puerto Sagunto. Newly promoted Jovens still closes the standings with four games lost. Torrent will meet at home bottom-ranked Alginet B (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jovens will play against Puerto Sagunto and hopes to get finally their first victory.
