Regular Season Round 5: Kormend - Arconic-Alba 86-83

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Kormend (2-2) edged at home 4th placed Alba (3-2) 86-83 on Saturday. American Mike Moore (203-1994, college: Mount Olive) stepped up and scored 29 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Nigerian power forward Godwin Omenaka (205-2000) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Kormend's coach Antonis Konstantinides used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Quincy Ford (203-1993, college: Northeastern) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and American-German forward Isaiah Philmore (203-1989, college: Xavier) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kormend moved-up to eighth place. Loser Alba keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Kormend will meet Bp. Honved (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alba will play against the league's second-placed Duna Aszfalt (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
