Regular Season Round 6: Hamm - Koeln DTV 93-86

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Koeln DTV (1-5) lost on the road to tenth ranked Hamm (3-3) 93-86 on Sunday. American guard John Murry (192-1995, college: Austin Peay) notched a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and Marcel Kirsch (201-2001) supported him with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Murry attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Even 22 points and 4 assists by point guard Patrick Reusch (185-1993) did not help to save the game for Koeln DTV. American-British guard Elijah Jenkins (190, college: Embry Riddle) added 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hamm moved-up to fifth place in West, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Koeln DTV dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. They share it with Aachen. Hamm will meet league's second-placed Recklinghausen on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Koeln DTV will play against Hertener Loewen (#3) and hope to win that game.
