Everything went according to plan in Istanbul where Mersin (3-0) beat Fenerbahce 2 (1-2) 88-80 on Sunday. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Tobin Carberry (193-1991, college: LIU Post) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Aaron Jones (206-1993, college: Ole Miss) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Marreon Jackson (185, college: Arizona St.) who recorded 18 points and 8 assists and swingman DShawn Schwartz (201-1999, college: GMU) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
