The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Bursaspor as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Bursaspor edged their biggest opponent Efes at home 88-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Efes. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Bursaspor made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Efes 32-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Onuralp Bitim (196-1999) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Jordanian center Ahmad Al-Dwairi (209-1993) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Will Clyburn (201-1990, college: Iowa St.) replied with 28 points and French Rodrigue Beaubois (190-1988, agency: BeoBasket) added 20 points in the effort for Efes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Efes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bursaspor have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Fenerbahce. Efes at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Efes will play next round against Acibadem trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul - Acibadem. Bursaspor will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Socar Petkim on the road.
