Regular Season Round 7: Slovanka MB - SBS Ostrava 79-42

Another exciting game was played in Vodochody between eighth ranked Slovanka MB and 5th ranked SBS Ostrava where host Slovanka MB (1-4) rolled over SBS Ostrava (3-3) with 37-point difference 79-42. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SBS Ostrava. Strangely SBS Ostrava outrebounded Slovanka MB 46-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Destiny Campbell (185, college: ECU) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Eliska Halova (179-2001) contributed with 8 points for the winners. Swingman Adela Smutna (183-1999, college: Northwest JC) answered with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Megan Mullings (185-1992, college: Alaska-Anch.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for SBS Ostrava. Four SBS Ostrava players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Slovanka MB went down to ninth position due to points difference. SBS Ostrava at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Chomutov. Slovanka MB will play against league's leader KP Brno on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SBS Ostrava will play against Zabiny Brno (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
