Regular Season Round 6: Skallagrimur - Hamar 88-101

The biggest surprise of round 6 was guest Hamar's (#3) road victory over Skallagrimur (#5) 101-88 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Skallagrimur. The game without a history. Hamar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Spanish point guard Jose Medina (185-1993) who scored 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Bjorn Asgeirsson (184-2000, college: Union, TN) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Hamar players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Keith Jordan (198-1998, college: SHU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (195-1993) added 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Hamar have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 4-2 record having just two points less than leader Alftanes, which they share with Selfoss. Skallagrimur at the other side keeps the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with IA. Hamar is looking forward to face Selfoss (#4) at home in the next round. Skallagrimur will play against the league's leader Alftanes and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
