No shocking result in a game in Paris where sixth ranked Vendee Challans (5-2) defeated 13th ranked CFBB (1-6) 75-70 on Friday. Vendee Challans made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for guard Paul Turpin (192-1993) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Gilvydas Biruta (206-1991, college: URI) helped adding 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side Ilane Fibleuil (193-2005) responded with 20 points and forward Mohamed Diakite (200-2006) scored 12 points. Four CFBB players scored in double figures. CFBB's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vendee Challans. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Orchies and Loon-Plage. Loser CFBB dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Vendee Challans will meet at home Poitiers (#8) in the next round. CFBB will play against Lourdes-Tarbes (#9) and hope to win that game.
