Regular Season Round 3: Turk Telekom - Aliaga Petkim 64-65

There was a small surprise in Ankara where Petkim Spor (1-2) edged Turk Telekom (2-1) 65-64 on Saturday. Petkim Spor dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 30. They outrebounded Turk Telekom 50-37 including 35 on the defensive glass. Petkim Spor looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Kerem Durmaz (-2004) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Murat Tor (-2003) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Arda Ozdogan (202-2005) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and center Civan Catak (205-2004) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Turk Telekom's coach Murat Oney tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Petkim Spor will meet Selcuklu (#10) on the road in the next round. Turk Telekom will play against Bursaspor (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
