Regular Season Round 8: Zalgiris II - Suduva-Mantinga 68-62

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kaunas. Top-ranked Zalgiris II faced one of their biggest challengers Suduva-Mantinga. Host Zalgiris II (7-0) defeated guests from Marijampole (5-2) 68-62. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Suduva-Mantinga. The best player for the winners was center Motiejus Krivas (214-2004) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Gytis Nemeiksa (201-2001) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Zalgiris II's coach Vytautas Pliauga used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aurelijus Pukelis (205-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Tautvydas Kliucinykas (190-1995) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Zalgiris II have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-0 record behind leader Telsiai. Suduva-Mantinga at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Silute. Zalgiris II are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#14) in Klaipeda in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Suduva-Mantinga will play at home against Vytis (#7) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
