Regular Season Round 2: Rivne - Blyskavky 83-49

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Blyskavky on the court of Rivne on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Rivne 83-49. The game without a history. Rivne led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Blyskavky's 26. They outrebounded Blyskavky 43-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Liudmyla Spyrydonova (180-1984) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Olena Tarhonska (176-2002) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Rivne players scored in double figures. Rivne's coach Valeriy Zhartun felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iryna Zhmurko (185-1996) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and forward Violetta Ostapchuk (170-2005) scored 15 points and 4 steals. Rivne are looking forward to face Frankivsk in Ivano-Frankivsk in the next round. Blyskavky will play on the road against Interkhim in Odessa and is hoping to win this game.
