Rather expected game when 5th ranked Sibiu (3-3) lost at home to top-ranked Rapid (5-0) 78-74 on Monday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 19-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Rapid forced 25 Sibiu turnovers. American Tyler Stone (203-1991, college: SEMO) notched 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-1989, college: Marquette) supported him with 20 points and 6 steals. Even 19 points by Latvian Roberts Blumbergs (208-1998, college: GCU) did not help to save the game for Sibiu. Point guard Sebastian Ionescu (190-1997) added 19 points. Four Sibiu players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Rapid have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Cluj Napoca. Sibiu lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Dinamo B.. Rapid will meet at home league's leader Cluj Napoca in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sibiu will have a break next round.
