Eurocup
Regular Season Round 4: London L. - Buducnost 78-87
Date: November 1, 2022
Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (3-1) defeated 8th ranked British Lions (1-3) in London 87-78 on Tuesday. The winners were led by French-Guinean center Alpha Kaba (208-1996) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-1995, college: Vermont, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 21 points and 5 assists. Even 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by American forward Sam Dekker (204-1994, college: Wisconsin) did not help to save the game for Lions. Canadian Aaron Best (193-1992, college: Ryerson) added 15 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Buducnost have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Montenegrin champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Lions keep the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with Cluj Napoca. Buducnost will meet at home Paris (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Lions will play against Hamburg Towers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
