The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Apoel as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Apoel defeated 9th ranked E.N. Paralimni in Nicosia 78-71. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-11. But E.N. Paralimni won second period 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Apoel brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. Ervin II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Apoel players scored in double figures. Apoel's coach Slobodan Subotic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Aaron Cook (188-1997, college: Georgia) answered with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and guard Brandon McKissic (190, college: Florida) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for E.N. Paralimni. Apoel have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. E.N. Paralimni lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with four games lost. E.N. Paralimni will play next round against Achilleas K. trying to get back on the winning streak.
